SUMMARY

Summary

**Checkins (4):** KE7YX Emery, KI7CUS Dennis, KK7YDC Kristalyn, plus N2SRX Rhett as net control. **Topic: What is your favorite film directed by Steven Spielberg?** Indiana Jones was the room favorite -- named by Rhett (The Last Crusade as his close second), Emery, Dennis, and Kristalyn. Hook came up twice: Rhett's #1 and on Dennis's liked list. Emery also loved Empire of the Sun ("great movie"), A Bridge Too Far, and Disclosure Day, which he noted just came out. Dennis said he has no single favorite -- he hasn't seen a lot of the list but likes a lot of them, calling out Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Indiana Jones, Hook, and Minority Report. Kristalyn rounded things out with Indiana Jones and War Horse. **Watching highlights:** - Emery with a big list as usual -- movies: Total Recall (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Nerveberg, A Vampire in the Family (2023), Sunshine (2007), The Black Sleep (1956), Mortal Kombat II (2026), and The Last House (2026); TV: Black Shores, Deadlock, US Marshals, Murdoch Mysteries, Northern Exposure, Tales from the Crypt, King of the Hill, Family Guy, Alfred Hitchcock, and Futurama - Dennis: Avatar: Fire and Ash (liked it the most in the series), a rewatch of The Last Starfighter (1984) -- "blu ray looks good" -- Mortal Kombat 2, Lethal Weapon 1, Crossroads, The Ashlad, In the Hall of the Mountain King, and Big Bang Theory - Kristalyn: Yukon Vet and the K-drama From Now On, Showtime! - Rhett: Giants baseball, DuckTales (2017), and Yukon Vet **Crossover viewing:** Yukon Vet shared by Rhett and Kristalyn. Mortal Kombat II (2026) appeared on both Emery's and Dennis's lists. On the topic side, Indiana Jones came up for all four; Hook for Rhett and Dennis; War Horse for Kristalyn and Dennis (he has it, may rewatch); and Disclosure Day resurfaced after Alan brought it up back in July -- Emery says it just came out, and Dennis says it hits DVD a week from Tuesday. **Notable comments:** - Emery: wants to look up Spielberg's filmography and see which ones to watch or rewatch -- he does like Spielberg. Also likes Stephen King, with a love-hate relationship with Pet Sematary - Dennis: never watched a movie because of who made it, but allows that Spielberg has made some decent work - Kristalyn: never watches something because of the director -- she follows stars more; noted Spielberg had his hand in 1,400 works. Excited to watch more stuff this week - Rhett on his own two weeks: not a super exciting one **Looking ahead:** Dennis reminded everyone that Disclosure Day comes out on DVD a week from Tuesday.
